27/12: Salvation Videos
Hey there everyone.
I was flicking around the web the other day when I found this great video on salvation. It's on youtube. Thought it may make interesting viewing. have a look and let me know what you think. It is by Rick Warren and I think would be great to show to your friends and relatives who don't know what Christianity is all about.

30/11: Do we really Listen??
Never done this before!! I struggle to share my thoughts when i talk, so this could be interesting trying to get them on here!! Oh well, here goes....
My thoughts are all about silence at the moment, yikes that sounds boring, but seriously I watched this documentary on TV a few weeks ago it was all about these 5 women who had to spend 33 days living in a monastry as Nun's. It was called "the Abbey" and it has motivated me to change some things. For a start, I realised Nun's aren't boring, old, ladies who have no concept of the world and whats going on, rather they are doing so much to make the world a better place in their own way. Most have come from amazing backrounds and have been able to develop this amazing sense of happiness, peace and contentment in God. They didn't arrive at this straight away, it has taken time and patience and their willingness to be open to listening to God. They spend most part of the days and nights in silence and get up at 4am to pray seven times a day. The significance of the silence is not so everything is quiet, but so that these women can listen, they can hear God in everything they do. WHOA!! Yes, its very routined, and not suited to everyone but I have been trying to take the time to listen more in everything that I do and it DOES make a difference!!
The five women who entered the Abbey all had different views on religion, God and spirituality, and some were quite closed up adn weren't ready to be contronted with any of it. But what happened? They couldn't not be changed, no, none of them became Nun's but they were all convinced that there is a God and that He needed to have a significant place in their lives. How great is that!!
Now, I'm not suggesting that we need to all become Nun's or Munk's!! That isn't going to happen, but what if we were all open to the idea that God exsists, that His Love is above all things and what if we all took the time to listen, really listen to what He has to say to us? What do you think? Would it change you?

- How do you seek God's will?
- What have you been reading in the bible lately?
- Is God revealing something special to you?
- Remember the idea of this is to talk about faith issues, so that we can see what each one thinks.
