"The Word: A Guide for the Faithful"

Meditate: "Hold up my goings in they paths, that my footsteps slip not."
(Ps.17:5)

Today’s Scripture:  James 1: 22-25

Bishop Francois de Sales once watched a farm servant crossing a farmyard to draw water from a well. He noticed that before she lifted the full pail of water, she put a piece of wood into it. One day the Bishop asked the girl, "Why do you do that?" the lass replied, "Why, to keep the water from spilling. To keep it steady." When the Word of God is in the centre of our lives we are kept steady, and God is able to guide us through His Word. It is something like the wood in the pail. God’s Word brings balance to our daily lives and keeps us secure in times of trouble. The Word can guide us step by step, day by day, hour by hour. A Hebrew translation of Proverbs 4: 12 says, "As thou goest step by step, I will open the way before thee." This means that whatever decisions we must make, God will always show us what to do at the right time. Truly the Bible is a guide for the faithful and it cannot be compared with any other literature that has ever been written. Make it your daily companion and source of supply for all your spiritual needs.

Father, that You for Your guidebook that will never fail me for it has been inspired and compiled according to Your will. Please continue to build up my confidence in Your Word so that I will not falter as I walk life’s way and seek to obey Your will for my life. Amen.

General Happenings

Primary Aged Ministry

Continuing on in our strong tradition of connecting with families this new ministry made its mark in 2007 with special monthly events for 3rd to 6th graders. This ministry, called G-Force, has continued for the last 2 years and is much enjoyed by the younger kids. The philosophy is to provide a pre youth group experience centered on God. Devotionals are hence always a key part of these fun events.
