DID YOU KNOW WE ARE NOT THE ONLY NEWSTEAD BAPTIST CHURCH?

Located in St. Louis, Missouri, USA is yet another Newstead Baptist.

While we were started in 1935, they opened their doors in 1930. We are on the north east corner and they on the south east corner of North Market Street and Newstead Avenue, a secondary but busy north south corridor.

WHAT'S ON AT NEWSTEAD

NEW CONTEMPORARY SERVICES START IN APRIL

Launch of New pm service a great success.

Our new contemporary service was launched at 6pm on the first Sunday in April. The evening was a huge success and featured Christian dance from members of our youth group as well as the special guest star Aliki. We look forward to what the future offers from Sunday nights at Newstead.

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER COMING

Rev. Dr. John Reid coming as special guest speaker:

Rev. Dr. John Reid will be speaking at our morning service on Sunday 20th April. John is currently a lecturer at the Baptist theological college of NSW in Pastoral Studies. More.

GENERAL HAPPENINGS

Students Visit from USA

In June we will be blessed to have 18 post high school aged gifted and talented workers for the Gospel come and minister through our Church. Stay tuned for more information

FUEL Bible Study

‘Fuel’ Bible Study is a new Tuesday night bible study group for all ages.  Pastor Guy is currently giving a biblical overview.  A meal is shared together at 6.30pm. and the study is from 7 – 8 pm. All are welcome to attend, but we do need a couple of days notice if you wish to join us for a meal.

Families and friends are encouraged to join in fellowship time over a meal before the study begins. And yes, children are welcome too as during the study time activities are provided for them. Please register your interest by using the contact tab at the top of the page. 

Primary Aged Ministry

Continuing on in our strong tradition of connecting with families this new ministry made its mark in 2007 with special monthly events for 3rd to 6th graders. This ministry, called G-Force commenced its program of monthly events in March, The philosophy is to provide a pre youth group experience centered on God. Devotionals are hence always a key part of these fun events.

Youth / Young Adult Ministry

Our FISH youth group has once again started 2008 strongly. As well as plenty of fun filled activities, with conversations centered around God, our youth group is also encouraged in service. By the end of term one our group will have participated in "Relay for life" as well as waitering for our Baptists Women's Ministry "Time Out" conference.

Our Narrow Gaters bible study for Junior high schoolers has changed to Monday nights while the Senior High School students are encouraged to join our new Church wide Tuesday night study.

Our FISH group will be taking responsibility to run one of our new monthly contemporary services.

CHURCH VOTES ON NEW DIRECTION

After much discussion, prayer and guidance the members of Newstead last year accepted a proposal to move in a specific direction in the next few years. We trust in God’s provision and faithfully serve Him as we make a few changes and be more specific about our direction as a church family.

It’s exciting to see a bright, fresh look to the front of the church building, along with new carpet and bright comfortable modern chairs bring a more open feel to our worship sanctuary. We thank God for His provision and look to Him for continual blessing.

FAMILY CHURCH

WE BELIEVE IN CATERING FOR FAMILIES

Regular worship services focusing on families.

As a family oriented Church, we believe that families are important. There are so many pressures on families in our society which are threatening the very structure of the way we live. It is our desire to celebrate rather than denigrate families. After all the family unit was ordained by God himself!

To simply celebrate being families, we are aiming our ministry focus at families. Ministry for all ages, plus cross generational family events.

At Newstead Baptist on any given Sunday we cater for families by ensuring that there is a special children's time every Sunday morning. Songs for Children, and a special Children's talk before our Children's club program are a normal part of Church life.

Our worship style on Sunday mornings is gentle contemporary music, facilitated by one of two fantastic morning worship bands, while our new evening contemporary service is aimed at catering for you, young adults and the young at heart.

Our Church has also voted to hold a number of "Pleasant Sunday Afternoons" to cater for traditional worship styles. Time loved hymns and organ music will be a great part of these special times.
